December 2015/January 2016 – Newsletter
2015 ended on a high note for Buffalo Trails Safaris and me personally. The last hunt of the season in mid December, took us down to Chibwedziva Campfire Area with a client who shot a fantastic elephant bull (pictured above left) – a great way to end off the 2015 hunting season. And shortly
prior to this was the annual SOAZ & ZPHGA Hunters & Guides Prize giving and ball where I was awarded the prestigious “Hunter of the Year Award” (pictured above right) together with runner up for the biggest antelope. It has to be said though – that these awards would not have been possible without all of our clients support throughout the year. You all know who you are and I would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank-you to all of you for your loyalty over the years in what have sometimes been tumultuous times for Zimbabwe and for supporting me as I have carved out my niche within the industry!!!
2015 was a tumultuous year to say the least-with some phenomenal highs and some extraordinarily sad lows-with a fair amount of controversy thrown in for good measure. However, throughout all of the intense scrutiny I am still extremely proud to be part of the hunting industry and the broader conservation initiative and this year has reminded me how privileged I am to be doing something that I love on a daily basis and I am very optimistic about the future of hunting and Zimbabwe as a whole.
We managed to have a much needed rest over the festive season with a very quiet Christmas and New Year and we hope that you all got to spend some quality time with your nearest and dearest. And 2016 has now begun and with it comes the show season in earnest.
Dallas and Houston have already taken place with positive feedback and Jannie flies out on Friday with First stop is the GSCO Slam Quest Convention. Jannie Meyer will be in booth number 103 and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Grand Slam Club Ovis for inviting us to participate in this years convention. Jannie’s number in the USA is +1 401 301 0718.
Following on from here, Jannie Will make his way up the strip for the annual SCI Convention at the Mandalay Bay. Jannie and Bert will be in booth 2124 and are really looking forward t catching up with everyone in Las Vegas.
Jannie then flies out of Las Vegas straight to Dortmund, which for the first time in several years does not clash with the SCI dates. This gives Jannie the opportunity to see all our European clients in Dortmund which he is really
looking for to!!!! Here’s to a fantastic 2016 for one and all!!!!
